Munster High School’s boys basketball team faced a significant defeat in a non-conference game against Lake Central, losing 66–30. The match took place on December 23 at Munster High School in Munster, Indiana.
According to the game’s records, Lake Central established control early, opening with a 12–3 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 31–9 by halftime. Munster attempted to find their rhythm offensively in the second half, scoring eight points in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth. However, Lake Central continued to widen the gap with consistent scoring and defensive pressure. The Mustangs were held to single-digit scoring in three quarters as Lake Central maintained its pace throughout the game.
Munster’s team competed defensively but struggled to slow down Lake Central’s balanced attack, which featured efficient shooting and ball movement. Despite these challenges, the Mustangs battled on the glass and worked to generate quality looks as the game progressed. They used this matchup as an opportunity to gain experience against a deep non-conference opponent.
The Mustangs are set to return to action on January 9 when they travel to Kankakee Valley for a conference matchup scheduled for 7 p.m. Notably, the two teams last met on January 10 of the previous year at Munster, where the Mustangs secured a 55–27 victory.
