Munster High School’s boys basketball team is set to commence its 2025–26 season under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Hackett. The team is concentrating on building chemistry, pace, and defensive intensity as they prepare for the upcoming games.
The Mustangs are scheduled to host Chesterton for a preseason scrimmage on Saturday, November 22, at 6:00 p.m. CST at Munster High School. According to Hackett, this matchup offers Munster an early chance to test its rotations and assess in-game execution against a disciplined Chesterton team. Hackett emphasizes that his team will focus on controlling the tempo, improving shot efficiency, and maintaining defensive communication throughout the scrimmage. He notes that the contest serves as a valuable tune-up before the Mustangs officially begin their season later in the week.
Hackett states that Munster’s early emphasis lies in developing balanced scoring and strong rebounding while reinforcing the defensive identity that has been a hallmark of his program. The scrimmage will also provide younger players with valuable varsity experience in a game-like environment.
Following this event, Munster will travel to Bishop Noll Institute for a matchup scheduled on Wednesday, November 26, at 7:00 p.m. CST.
