The Munster boys basketball team is set to commence its 2025–26 season with the Chesterton Scrimmage on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Munster High School. This event marks another chapter under the guidance of longtime head coach Mike Hackett.
According to Hackett, his program maintains one of the state’s longest conference winning streaks, entering the season with 42 consecutive league victories and eight straight undefeated conference titles. “They take a lot of pride in it,” Hackett said. “No one wants to be the team that breaks the streak.”
Josh Malloy, a senior player for Munster, is approaching a milestone of 1,000 career points and holds several program records for three-point shots. Troy Jarrett, a junior who assumed a starting role as a sophomore, has demonstrated significant growth during the offseason. Both players emphasized leadership and accountability as new members join the team. “I want to be that role model for the younger guys,” Malloy said.
The team’s next challenge will be an away game against Bishop Noll Institute on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 7 p.m. Central Time.
