The Munster Mustangs girls basketball team is navigating the 2025–26 season with a focus on growth, effort, and teamwork under the guidance of head coach DeAndre Williams, now in his fourth year.
Williams noted that after graduating five key seniors from last year’s roster, this season’s group is young but motivated to compete at a high level. The team is embracing a new identity centered around accountability and defense. The Mustangs are set to play their fourth game of the season at home against Andrean on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 7 p.m. inside Munster High School. According to Williams, his primary emphasis early in the year has been patience and progress. “We’re focused on progress, not perfection,” he said. “Every day we come in, we want to get one percent better. The girls are willing to listen, they want to learn, and they’re growing each day.”
Williams also highlighted that the team’s culture is built around a new motto — “Team Glory” — which promotes a “we over me” mindset. “Any success we have will come from what the team does together,” Williams said. “It’s all about unity and defense first.”
Looking ahead, Munster will travel to Chesterton on Tuesday, November 25, for its fifth game of the season.
