Munster commenced its postseason with a decisive victory, defeating Hammond Morton 10-0 in the first round of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 3A Boys Soccer State Tournament (Sectional 1 | Lake Central).
According to reports, the match took place on October 7 at Lake Central High School. The Mustangs maintained control of possession and tempo from the start, advancing in the state bracket.
Munster established a 4-0 lead by halftime through precise passing and relentless offensive pressure. They added six more goals in the second half to secure a shutout win. Goalkeeper Beckett Hunt played a key role in defense while also contributing offensively. The Mustangs outshot Hammond Morton 31-0 during the match. This balanced attack and organized defense highlighted Munster’s season-long strengths: precision, depth, and consistency. With this victory, Munster improved its overall record to 9-7-2.
The team is set to continue sectional play later this week against another Lake County opponent as it aims to build on its postseason momentum for a deep tournament run.
