Munster dropped a non-conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday night, falling to Lake Central 42–12 at home.
According to the game summary, the Mustangs struggled offensively from the start, finishing 3-of-42 from the field and 1-of-15 from three-point range. Senior Arroya Mongerie led Munster with five points, including a perfect 2-for-2 effort at the free-throw line, and added defensive activity throughout the night. Junior Elena Dovellos scored three points and provided interior minutes, while junior K. O’Connell added two points at the line. Sophomore I. Jarrett contributed two points and three rebounds, giving the Mustangs energy on the glass. Despite their effort defensively, Munster was unable to match Lake Central’s balanced scoring and size inside.
The Indians used a 12-point opening quarter to build early separation and maintained control throughout. Munster held Lake Central to eight points in the second quarter but struggled to convert possessions into points.
Munster is scheduled to travel to Gary West Side on December 6 for a 6 p.m. matchup.
