The Munster girls’ cross-country team demonstrated a strong performance at the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Sectional meet, securing second place overall behind Lake Central, which is currently ranked No. 5 in the state. The team’s depth and consistency across their lineup ensured their advancement to the Regional competition.
The event was held at Highland High School on Saturday, October 18, where Munster competed against a challenging field of programs from Northwest Indiana.
Lekha Patel led the Mustangs by finishing fourth overall. Sophia Puliaeva followed closely in ninth place, with teammates Riley Sechowski (15th), Olivia Ahn (16th), and Ellis Choi (17th) completing the scoring five for Munster. Julia Casey (23rd) and Beatrissa Pitcher (29th) also delivered strong performances that contributed to Munster’s second-place finish in the team standings.
