Munster High School’s girls’ cross country team delivered a commendable performance at the Culver Invitational, securing third place in the varsity competition despite facing challenging heat conditions.
The event took place on Saturday, September 27, at Culver Academies. The Mustangs were led by Elora, who achieved a fifth-place finish individually, and Lekha, who followed closely with a ninth-place finish. Their performances laid a strong foundation for Munster’s overall team score. Sophia contributed with a 26th-place finish, while Ellis finished just behind in 27th position, helping the Mustangs secure their top-three team result.
In junior varsity action, Olivia Gena stood out with a 15th-place finish, showcasing the depth of talent within the Munster program and highlighting the potential of its younger runners. The squad was praised for its ability to remain composed and work together under difficult running conditions. The third-place varsity finish emphasized Munster’s consistency as they approach the postseason, while the junior varsity squad’s performance reflected the program’s ongoing growth.
