The Munster girls wrestling team secured two victories at the Munster Duals on Saturday, demonstrating depth and efficiency across multiple weight classes during a busy afternoon schedule.
The event occurred on Saturday, November 22, at Munster High School. The Mustangs competed against Merrillville, Whiteland, Griffith, Rensselaer Central, and Triton in a five-dual format.
According to the event results, Munster’s strongest performance was a 72–12 win over Griffith. This victory was driven by six forfeit wins and several quick pins. Allyson Compton achieved a fall in just 24 seconds at the 170-pound category. Elizabeth Graves (115), Alice Gill (120), and Karibella Rodriguez (125) all recorded first-period pins. Additionally, Lilliana Whitmire (140), Emily Salamanca (145), Mia Jimenez (155), Lily Bensinger (190), Vayda Chismar (235), Amelia Andriessen (100), Sophia Flores (105), and Bobbie Uidl (130) each contributed six-point forfeit wins to secure the dominant team result.
Munster also defeated Rensselaer Central 54–30 with additional depth points across the lineup. The Mustangs faced setbacks against Griffith at 110 and 135 pounds, where Brooklynn Alvarado and Mya Ceja were each caught in falls. With two dual wins and several breakthrough performances, Munster continues to build momentum early in the season.
The next competition for Munster is scheduled at Lowell on Thursday, December 4, for a meet starting at 12:30 p.m.
