Munster is preparing for its upcoming contest with the aim of building early-season momentum, led by senior leader and returning scorer Josh Malloy.
The Mustangs are set to host Hammond Morton on December 6, 2025, for a varsity matchup at Munster High School scheduled for 7 p.m.
According to head coach Mike Hackett, Munster enters the season with a balance of returning production and new contributors. Malloy’s senior presence anchors both the lineup and the team’s culture. Hackett described Malloy as a likely 1,000-point scorer who is positioned to break the program’s major three-point records while also serving as a central leader for a roster featuring many first-year varsity players. Malloy said leadership is his top priority this season, noting that with so many new faces, his role is to help younger teammates understand expectations and the standard that has driven Munster’s extended run of conference success. Junior guard Troy Jarrett, who stepped into the starting lineup as a sophomore last year, also returns as a key contributor after a productive offseason.
The Mustangs will face Hammond Morton on December 6 in an important early-season home test. Last year, Munster won their meeting on December 7, 2024, securing a 66–60 victory on the road at Hammond Morton.
