The Munster boys’ soccer team’s strong 2025 campaign concluded Saturday afternoon with a 6–0 defeat to Lake Central in the Class 3A sectional round of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Boys Soccer State Tournament.
The match took place on October 11, 2025, at Lake Central High School in St. John. The Indians capitalized on early opportunities to build a commanding first-half lead.
Lake Central struck four times before halftime, using their pace and precision passing to pressure Munster’s back line. The Mustangs adjusted defensively in the second half, tightening their shape and generating counterattacks. However, Lake Central added two more goals late to secure the result.
Goalkeeper Beckett Hunt made several strong saves under constant pressure and continued to serve as a vocal leader for the Munster defense. Midfielder Ryan Morales and forward Jack Reynolds worked to create chances up front, helping the Mustangs maintain stretches of possession and test the Lake Central defense.
The loss concludes a successful season for Munster, which finishes with a 9–8–2 record, including a 5–1 mark in conference play. The Mustangs earned quality wins over Highland, Portage, and Merrillville during the season and consistently showed improvement against elite opponents.
