Munster’s football season concluded Friday night with a 45-14 defeat to Merrillville in the opening round of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) playoffs. The Mustangs ended the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 4-7.
The postseason matchup occurred on November 7, 2025, at Merrillville High School. Despite moments of offensive momentum, Munster struggled to contain a balanced Merrillville attack that capitalized on field position and red-zone efficiency. The Mustangs scored twice but were unable to sustain drives in the second half as the Pirates extended their lead.
According to reports, Munster demonstrated measurable growth throughout the fall, highlighted by improved defensive communication and the development of several underclassmen who gained key varsity experience. The team’s progress within the Northwest Crossroads Conference provides a promising foundation for the program as it looks ahead to 2026.
Next, Munster will focus on regrouping during the offseason with an emphasis on strength, speed, and consistency on both sides of the ball as returning players assume leadership roles.
