Munster High School’s boys wrestling team achieved a clean sweep at the Valparaiso Viking Duals, securing victories in all five of their matches. Among these was a decisive 61–18 win over Kankakee Valley and a 45–30 triumph against the host team, Valparaiso.
The competition took place on December 6 in Valparaiso as part of the regular-season dual meets.
According to reports from the event, Munster demonstrated significant team depth with dominant performances against Hammond Morton (77–6), Boone Grove (60–16), and Michigan City (64–18). Key contributors included Noah Cunningham, who set an early tone with pins and technical falls. Other notable performers were Julian Gonzales, Nash Burke, Diego Betancourt, Luis Gomez, Noah Prieto, and Ricky Wyatt, each earning multiple bonus-point victories that consistently favored Munster on the score sheets.
In addition to these achievements, heavyweights and upper-weight wrestlers such as Wesaal Wardak, Andrew Kooi, and Aden El Harit played crucial roles by delivering key falls and decisions. Their efforts were instrumental in maintaining Munster’s lead against Valparaiso during the final round.
The Mustangs’ performance at the duals serves as a strong indicator of their depth and momentum as they continue into December’s competitions.
