Junior defender Zion Richards said his role as a leader is to make sure Munster’s defense stays disciplined.
“We’ve got three core values — physical, movement and discipline,” Richards said. “We emphasize them every day. I’m trying to make sure everyone really takes that to heart so we can play that way.”
Head coach Romison St-Louis said Richards has become a model for the defense. “He’s shown that leadership is about example,” St-Louis said. “That’s what we want.”
Richards said his job includes helping disguise coverages. “We run stunts and blitzes,” he said. “We’ll show one coverage pre-snap, then switch to another. We want to keep offenses guessing.”
Schassburger said Richards’ leadership shows on the field. “He’s stepped up, and it makes our team stronger,” he said.
St-Louis said the defense is on track. “We’ve got some new guys, but we’re in a good place,” he said. “Our goal is to keep improving each week.”
