Senior quarterback Danny Schassburger says his job is to keep Munster’s offense steady.
“We’re always going to take it one play at a time,” Schassburger said. “If something bad happens, we don’t dwell on it. We talk it out on the sideline, fix the mistake and move on.”
Schassburger said the game has slowed down for him. “I see defenses differently now,” he said. “We spent the offseason learning to read coverages. I’m seeing things before the snap, and that makes a huge difference.”
Head coach Romison St-Louis said Schassburger’s growth reflects the program’s progress. “Offensively, we’re mentally much farther along,” St-Louis said. “Danny’s leadership has been a big part of that.”
Richards said Schassburger’s leadership carries over to the team. “He’s the leader of the offense, and he makes sure everyone’s locked in,” Richards said.
St-Louis said that presence will be critical this fall. “We want to start fast and score touchdowns,” he said. “Having a leader at quarterback helps us get there.”
