In his second year at the helm, head coach Romison St-Louis believes Munster football is headed in the right direction.
“We struggled early last year, especially on offense,” St-Louis said. “But I thought we finished the second half of the season really well. The kids came together, and that’s always tough when you’re building a new culture and new standards.”
St-Louis said this offseason focused on commitment. “Everybody wants to win, but you have to earn the right to win,” he said. “I thought we had a pretty good offseason. Our returners know the expectations and the scheme much better.”
He credited his leaders for setting the tone. “We’ve got two kids here who are leaders of our offense and defense,” St-Louis said. “They’ve done a really good job, and I’m excited about where we’re going.”
Quarterback Danny Schassburger said the players are embracing that responsibility. “We always take it one play at a time,” he said. “If something bad happens, we don’t dwell on it. We learn from it and focus on the next snap.”
Defender Zion Richards added that the team’s culture is becoming clearer. “We’re stepping up as leaders and trying to show by example,” he said.
